This attractive little museum in south-east England is actually set in rural Kent, just outside the village of Woodchurch.  It is conveniently located just 5 miles (8 kms) from the Cinque Port town of Tenterden.

The museum is housed in an 18th century oak-framed barn and a 17th century cart shed.  In these ancient buildings is unfurled the history of the area in a range of media.  The collection is very varied ranging from tiny coins and Stone Age tools to wagons and a rocking horse.

The story of Woodchurch is lovingly told through its landscape, architecture, farming, schools, religious wars, trades, professions and social life.  Well worth a visit.
