Oxford City Centre is pedestrian friendly and most of the popular sights are within easy walking distance of each other.
To get an overview before you begin walking try climbing up Carfax Tower in the city centre.  Other views over the city are available from the University Church of St Mary the Virgin (St Mary's Oxford) in the High Street, and St Michael Northgate, in Cornmarket. All of these vantage points have small admission charges.
Parking in Oxford is very restricted so if you are arriving by car we would recommend using one of a number of ‘Park and Ride’ facilities strategically placed on the outskirts of the city. For full details go to Web:  Oxfordshire Council Park & Ride
