Clink Prison Museum
1 Clink Street
London SE1 9DG
TfL Fare Zone 1
This small museum is in the basement of a warehouse built on the site of the original Clink Prison. It is suitably dark and claustrophobic to give the visitor the feel of imprisonment in a medieval prison.
There are waxwork models of the types of people who were incarcerated here. The instruments of torture and types of restraints used during the period that the prison was functioning can be handled. The horrific exhibits are accompanied by an authentic sounding audio track.
This museum is not for the faint hearted - so be aware!
