HMS Belfast is one of four branches of the Imperial War Museum.

Moored on the south bank of the River Thames, opposite the Tower of London, HMS Belfast has been saved for the nation as a lasting tribute to the Royal Navy. She is the second ship to be accorded this honour – Nelson’s Victory at Portsmouth was the first.

Built in 1938 she served throughout the Second World War playing an important role in the destruction of the German battle cruiser Scharnhorst. On D-Day (6th June 1944) she supported the Allied Troops’ landing on 'Gold' and 'Juno' beaches on the Normandy coast.

As well there are excellent exhibits depicting the Belfast’s exploits.
