This famous pub is situated in the legal district of London. There has been a pub on this site since the 1400s; however the current pub was built in the 1920s.

The pub’s interior design takes the visitor back to the Tudor age with its panelled interior and cavernous, gothic space making it an interesting venue with character.

It is a large three bar pub with the back bar resembling a large baronial hall. It has a high vaulted ceiling, big whisky barrels and intimate dark wooden booths in which to drink, chat, eat and be merry. On winter nights, there is fire in the middle of the hall making for a warm and toasty atmosphere.

There is the standard pub food on offer at good value prices.

The Cittie of York is a Sam Smiths brewery pub. It is listed in CAMRA's inventory of historic pub interiors.
