Somerset Rural Life
Somerset BA6 8DB
The cluster of medieval buildings close to Glastonbury Abbey is the home of this free museum.
The life of a Victorian farm worker, John Hodges, is told from the cradle to the grave in reconstructed rooms. The social and domestic life of Victorian Somerset is depicted in these reconstructions.
As well there are demonstrations of arts long lost to modern times such as mud horse fishing, peat digging and cider making. An interesting museum for both adults and children.
