Worthy Farm

The world famous Glastonbury Festival is a five day music festival held at Worthy Farm near Pilton, six miles (10.65 km) from Glastonbury. The full name of the festival is Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts or ‘Glasto for short.

Leading pop music artists perform along with a smorgasbord of other acts including comedy, cabaret, circus, dance and theatres and a host of other arts.

Millions have been making the pilgrimage to Worthy Farm for decades and it has become the biggest and best-loved music festival in the world.

The Festival is held annually (around the end June) except for ‘fallow years’ – usually every five years. These ‘fallow years’ allow the fields, the local population in the surrounding villages and the event organisers a ‘quiet’ period (a rest!).

Glastonbury is the largest Green Field festival in the world, and is now attended by around 175,000 people each year. Tickets are on sale shortly after the end of the current Festival so if you are intending to go, we recommend that you check the Festival website (link below) on a regular basis and purchase immediately the release of tickets is announced. They often sell-out within a couple of hours! The Festival organisers have created an excellent, informative website for your use.

The line up of acts is outstanding ranging from top name performers to street performers.
There are some ten performance stages set throughout the fields. As well there are food outlets, bars, cinema.
