The Crown Inn
The Street
Kent CT14 0NA
The village inn in this little Kentish town of Finglesham in south-east England is a real country pub. It is the centre of village life where locals meet to chat, enjoy a quiet drink, play a game of dominoes, cribbage or Scrabble, or enjoy a meal in the cosy 16th century restaurant.
A roaring fire in the inglenook fireplace greets customers in winter but in summer, drinks can be taken outside in the pretty garden where there is play equipment for the children to enjoy. Snacks, lunches and evening meals are available 7 days a week with a traditional roast lunch on Sundays. Meals are home cooked and reasonably priced.
Award Winning CAMRA Pub
This is an award-winning CAMRA pub which means it is a Free House (not tied to a brewery) with real ales. The landlords, David and Jackie Cooper, ensure the range always includes at least one regularly changing guest beer. They also have a good choice of wines by the glass or bottle. Bottled beers as well as a large selection of lagers, ciders, spirits and liqueurs are also on offer.
The pub has a Caravan and Camping site in the field next door, and Orchard Lodge B & B is also close by. Details on pub website.
