Tavistock Steam Fair is different from other Steam Fairs because it offers rides behind steam powered vehicles around the streets of Tavistock.

The annual event is usually held on the Sunday of the first weekend of June every year at The Wharf (Canal Road) and at Bedford Car Park. It starts at 10:00 and runs to 17:00 hours. The Vintage Tractor Road Run starts at 11:00.

The Robey Trust preservation Charity runs this event and they endeavour to have on display and in action the following exhibits:
Full Size Steam Engines, Steam Car, Robey Steam Wagon, Miniature Steam Engines, Tractors, Vintage & Classic Cars, Motorcycles, Military Vehicles, and Stationary (Barn) Engines.
The Wharf
At ‘The Wharf ‘can be found ‘The Model Engineering Exhibition’, Mini Steam Train Rides, a spectacular Garden Railway, and Model Boats. There are Trade Stands plus Food and drink Stalls.
The Wharf is a privately run arts centre with theatre, concert hall, cinema and art gallery. It has a popular waterside coffee shop and bar.
