Bibury Trout Farm Cirencester
Gloucestershire GL17 5NL

You couldn’t find a prettier place to learn about Rainbow and Brown trout than Bibury Trout Farm.

Located in the centre of ‘one of the most beautiful villages in England’ this hatchery has been stocking local rivers and streams with native Brown Trout since 1902.

Situated on the centre of Bibury in the delightful River Coln Valley, the Trout Farm covers 15 acres. It is fed by the crystal clear waters of the Bibury Spring and is a favourite spot for wildlife. Families of swans and ducks with their babies and other wildfowl are a common sight.

Fish food is available for feeding the trout which leap out of the water eager to get the food first.

This is a working trout farm and as you wander around you may witness one of the many daily tasks such as feeding the fish or grading the fish before being moved to new oxygenated tanks. Information boards give an insight to what goes on in the hatchery and fryary areas and staff are delighted to answer any questions the visitor may have.

‘Catch Your Own’ Fishery
On weekends and local school holidays between the months of March and October visitors can actually try their hand at catching a trout. All equipment is supplied and help provided if required.
