The Avon Packet Pub Bristol
185 -187 Coronation Road
Somerset BS3 1RF
If visitors are interested in chasing history and enjoying a beer, coffee or bar meal, this may be an interesting pub for you.
The pub dates from around 1820 and in the garden is a rare relic of a very popular but cruel sport - an original bear-baiting pit. The pub possibly takes its name from one of the steam passenger boat companies that plied for trade on the Avon at Bristol - the New Steam Packet Company.
A slight drawback however is that it is a little hard to get to, being approximately twenty minutes from the City centre. However it is only a short taxi ride and worth the effort.
Of course the Avon Packet offers a full range of local and imported Beers, Ales and ciders together with a well priced range of pub food.
